Hey Guys, So I am really sorry that I haven't been able to post for the last 2 weeks, and I can explain... So I am currently, sadly, disappointingly in a huge reading slump right now.... I have been reading the same book for over 3 weeks to a month. It is just the most regrettable D: Because of this reading slump I currently do not have any books to review )= and this is why I am writing a sort of sorry letter. On the other hand, I also went to Boston for two days with my dad because I went to go see my dream college: MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). I want to become a computer programer/ software developer. I will also be going to Canada, so I will definately write about my trip there. Jess Book: What Light Author: Jay Asher Expected Publication Date: October 11, 2016 Got this ARC through a giveaway. *************************** This was such a cute book, and I'll admit it, I've never read a Jay Asher book before, so this was pretty good to start off with. the character development in this book was incredible. Sierra was such a kind person, who saw through someones flaw and saw what other people didn't see, love. **Warning: Minor Spoilers** Plot: Sierra is a girl who's parents own a Christmas Tree lot in California. She's working on the lot until one day she bumps into a customer who is her age with a killer dimple. Later, Sierra can't stop thinking about him, and since the guy (Caleb) buys more trees from their lot, she bumps into him more. They start joking and hanging out. One day Sierra tells one of her best friend (Heather) about him, and learns that Caleb has had a violent past. Heather tells Sierra that Caleb went at his sister with a knife, but Sierra is certain that such a sweet guys wouldn't hurt his sister. Later, things become awkward between them, as Caleb can sense that Sierra knows something, but they both let it go, and be friends. Caleb keeps buying more Christmas trees which he delivers to people who don't have enough money, and Sierra starts going with him. Caleb confesses what actually happened that night, and Sierra loves him even more after that. The bond between her and Caleb grow as they get closer. Sierra brightens Caleb's life, even when he has to live with the guilt of that night forever. This book is about true love at the most magical time of the year: Christmas. At the end, this was such a nice read, and I'll def. be reading it again during the holidays. Jess Hi guys!! As you may or may not know, June 10-June 12 was the first ever B&N book fest! (Yes I know I am very late for this post...) There were many special giveaways and free samples from different new books coming this year and next year. I went, and it was a lot of fun being with all of those book-lovers. We talked about different stories, and book-to-movie adaptations. When I went, I figured out that I was early, so I looked around a bit and looked at the newest books in the young-adult section. It was awesome. Alright, so when it was finally time, I went and literally picked up everything. I am totally not a hogger guys when it comes to books. Hehe. Okay then I came home and lived happily ever after. No, I'm just kidding, I can't go inside Barnes and Noble and not come out without a book in my hand... so of course I picked up a couple of books. (Book haul blog coming out soon! These books are a secret for now.) Then I lived happily ever after with 4 new books to read! Hey guys!!
So the past two months have been really hectic because summer vacation started and my summer classes also started. So that is what I am going to blame on for not writing in my blog. On a better note, there's been so much going on in my book world and I'm going to be writing about a lot of interesting things! (Like a 20+ book haul and the B&N book fest!) I can't wait! ~Jess Hey guys!! So yesterday, I went to Philly (Philadelphia) which was really exciting because I really enjoy reading about history and learning about history. We took a lot of tours and pictures around the various historic sites we visited (map below). The most interesting place was probably the Betsy Ross house, which was where the first American Flag was stitched. Another interesting place was the U.S. Mint, which is where coins in the United States are manufactured. It was really cool to see all of that technology (yes, I am a technology nerd, I even have those really big nerdy glasses). Somewhere in the middle of the day, we stopped for a Starbucks, and since it was really cold, I got a caramel macchiato (ahhh, those are so good!) At the end there was just so much to see, and so little time to see it. We saved the gift/souvenir shop for the end, and you can guess what I got. Yea, I got a book. "Midnight Rising". It's just such an intricate title and cover!! I'm sooo excited to finish this book!! (Review coming out soon). By: E. Lockhart
My Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ My Review: This books was very different from other types of books I have read, and although I cried about what happened with the three other Liars, I loved how this story was intricately designed to go from just a story about an "average" girl, to a person who was going through so much struggle and pain, physically and emotionally. Cady is a strong girl. I think she really deserves that character in the book. Overall, I think that this book was really interesting, cool, and amazing, and I really love the story plot and what happens later in this book. I literally have no, absolutely no words to express my emotions on this book right now. http://stephanieziel.blogspot.com/2013/11/my-alternate-ending-for-allegiant-third.htmlHey guys, I found this quite a while ago, probably written in 2013 or 2014, but I thought I might share this with you! Enjoy!
For all of you fans of Divergent that were left heartbroken (I know I was) at the end of Tris Prior's dystopian world, I have something special here that will fix your day... (if you haven't already read it!) So, I found out that Stephanie Ziel wrote an alternate ending for Allegiant by Veronica Roth. **Might spoil for readers that haven't read the series yet!** Here are the two links: Alternate Ending: http://stephanieziel.blogspot.com/2013/11/my-alternate-ending-for-allegiant-third.html The Epilouge: http://stephanieziel.blogspot.com/2013/11/epiloge-coming-soon.html Hey Guys, so as you know, I have started a blog, for fun.
